The Motorcycle Sport Touring Association is a national enterprise, run by volunteers for the mutual benefit of all members. Membership benefits include (but are not limited to):
| The MSTA "Blue Book" -A listing of the membership by state
including contact information and a summary of assistance each member is
willing to offer fellow members when out on the road and in need. Published
annually. |
| STAReview - A bi-monthly publication at the National level with Trip
reports, tips, and free ads for buying/selling motorcycle related items.
| MSTA Sponsored Major Events (See Events link above). We now have weekend
or longer events just about every single month of the year, and the local
(state) chapters run much more frequent day or lunch rides
| New Friends - Likely the most valuable membership benefit of all is all the new friends you are sure to make and keep for a lifetime. And they all enjoy the same thing you do - motorcycle riding! |
In order to manage all aspects of club operation, there are regional directors, and where sufficient membership interest (IE: more members and more volunteers) exist, there are State Directors. Many, though not all, of the State chapters also publish newsletters and/or operate local websites such as this one.
Here in Florida we have at least two scheduled Lunch Rides every month where folks ride on their bikes (and sometimes even in their cars) to meet up for lunch or brunch at some quaint location. We try to move it around and find interesting, enjoyable places with good food and not-too-pricey menus. It's not at all uncommon for members to ride 200 miles to make a lunch, though there are opportunities for shorter rides as well. It's a great way to meet other riders and we hope to build the membership and add even more events in the future. Although considered "Rides to Eat" the real focus is on the riding - the eating is just an excuse to get out and ride.
We are not exclusively Honda owners ! Although members do own and ride Hondas, we also have a healthy sample of BMW's, Kawasaki's, Suzuki's, and yes even some Harley Davidson's. The main thing that sets our club apart from others in our focus on riding and our emphasis on safety.
